Merry Day After Christmas to all

Hope yesterday was as good and grand for everyone else as it was here. Got up, had coffee, did pressies and I got TOYS! Silicon, plastic and metal - OHBOY! And some of y'all have dirty minds*.

Kitchen toys, people, measuring cups and recipe cups and a scale (it's what requires batteries), and a set of Wall-E figs to take to work.

Then we fixed dinner, Rib roast and veggies. We were going to have a fresh loaf of bread but we think the bread machine is trying to curl up its toes and die on us. It's about 8 or 9 years old, so it's not like we bought it last year and it's dying, but we really wanted that loaf of bread, dammit.

Overall, a quite happy day spent with loved ones and friends.

*besides, mine plugs into the wall.

I Am A: Chaotic Neutral Human Wizard/Sorcerer (3rd/3rd Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-12

Dexterity-17

Constitution-16

Intelligence-17

Wisdom-13

Charisma-13

Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Primary Class:
Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

Secondary Class:
Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Find out What Kind of Dungeons and Dragons Character Would You Be?, courtesy of Easydamus (e-mail)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Detailed Results:

Alignment:
Lawful Good ----- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (19)
Neutral Good ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (20)
Chaotic Good ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (21)
Lawful Neutral -- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (19)
True Neutral ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (20)
Chaotic Neutral - XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (21)
Lawful Evil ----- XXXXXXX (7)
Neutral Evil ---- XXXXXXXX (8)
Chaotic Evil ---- XXXXXXXXX (9)

Law & Chaos:
Law ----- XXXXXX (6)
Neutral - XXXXXXX (7)
Chaos --- XXXXXXXX (8)

Good & Evil:
Good ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXX (13)
Neutral - XXXXXXXXXXXXX (13)
Evil ---- X (1)

Race:
Human ---- XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (15)
Dwarf ---- XXXXXXXXXX (10)
Elf ------ XXXXXX (6)
Gnome ---- XXXXXX (6)
Halfling - XXXXXXXX (8)
Half-Elf - XXXXXXXXXX (10)
Half-Orc - XX (2)

Class:
Barbarian - (-2)
Bard ------ (-4)
Cleric ---- (0)
Druid ----- (-8)
Fighter --- XX (2)
Monk ------ (-27)
Paladin --- (-17)
Ranger ---- XXXX (4)
Rogue ----- (-2)
Sorcerer -- XXXXXX (6)
Wizard ---- XXXXXX (6)

Please do so with all haste.

Your word means nothing. Your resignation letter and your NDA, whether
they involve a true 'legal entity' or not, were your word. And in
violating your relinquishment of all intellectual property rights,
you've become a thief as well. Liar and thief... think on that. You
have no honor. You adhere to the 'letter of the law' and completely
violate the spirit. Your lies, misdirections and prevarications in
service of your 'dream' show that there is little truth in you. Your
religious delusions serve to give you justification for whatever you
end up doing as you stumble through your days. Your life is a road map
of clusterfuck after clusterfuck, so I see how well that's working for
you.

Like Chris concerning your daughter, like Leah concerning the money
she loaned you, we're seeing what you're made of, and it truly
disappoints me.

To reiterate, we're done.

Jim

Hayden responded with this:

I read through this message probably four or five times. I'll try to keep my response short as I see no need to drag this out any longer than is required.

First, I should have your house key and stuff to Richard by tonight or tomorrow night depending on how quickly I can get it together.

Second, I will be calling Chrysler today to start the refinancing as you requested. You can keep the extra key. I can't imagine either of you ever trying to take the truck and it may come in useful later that you have a copy.

And last, in response to the bulk of this message, I up my bid to Dorris for the Lead programmer position from $100,000.00 salary to $150,00.00 per year. Minimum of two years with benefits and an equal share of the profits from the game.

P.S.
If Jim sends me another shitty e-mail like this one I will be upping my offer again to $175,000.00.

I am not joking and I am not laughing.

I just sent Hayden my response:

Hayden

The thought that Jim would send an email, like the one he sent, without discussion with me is laughable.

The thought that Jim's email was, somehow, a bargaining ploy is insulting. In fact, the reason I didn't respond to this email sooner was, if I had, it would be about 3 pages of vitriolic prose.

The thought of working for/with someone who will ignore his own word in order to do whatever he wishes to do is nauseating.

I cannot, and I will not, work with/for someone I cannot trust again.

In case you missed it the first time around, we're done. You need not make any other offer as it will be refused.

We aren't joking
We aren't laughing

Dorris

...for brisket....

So...there I am, sitting in the holding cell biding my time when I hear a familiar 'boof'. Yup, Conan, Xena and Jaxur, outside the cell window with a rope, a wagon, a couple of Milk-bones and a chihuahua. Once they saw me in the window, Conan 'boofs' again, eats a MilkBone and flings the chihuahua at the window. He didn't take into consideration the extra weight of the rope they'd somehow attached to the chihuahua's collar, and the chihuahua wasn't real impressed with hitting the wall the first 3 attempts, I was afraid that the 'whap!' 'Yipe' 'whap' 'Yipe!' might get the attention of others inside the building, but it didn't - and on the 4th try, Conan got the chihuahua through the window. I tied the rope to the bars, left the chihuahua horking on the floor (motion sickness, I guess) and told Conan to "Go get RINGS!"

Popped them bars RIGHT out of the wall, let me tell you.

Then there was the interesting chase through north Austin, Conan pulling the wagon, me holding on, Xena bouncing at the troopers, head-spinning, daemon wailing, chihuahua aiding in the chase 'cuz Conan ate all the Milk-bones that had been promised as a reward for being thrown through a window - he's barking, sirens blasting, Conan's doing his best freight train impression - and Jaxur's just happy everyone showed up.

Did you know that State trooper cars can't go cross country? At least, not for long. But it took about 5 miles to lose that damn chihuahua. Eventually we headed to Seton to get Jim out. Turned Xena loose on the carolers....there was great weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, but they cleared out of the way. Tied the other end of the rope on Jim, told Conan to "find RINGS" again. Forgot that that stupid hospital gown is only tied on....oopsy...ask Jim about the foliage enema sometime....at yer own risk.

Anyway, to make a long story longer, got home in time to get the brisket in, help Jim remove the various bits and twigs from the trip home, make the run to Walgreen's (they're open on Christmas, who knew?) for gallons of Neosporin and gauze, prop Jim up long enough to put the bread in the bread maker and then settled down to watch Looney Tunes (3rd Edition, received for my birfday).

All in all, a decent Christmas....fun was had by many, but I think the damn chihuahua found us....

yup

he did (loading 45)

"What does Dorris want for Christmas/birthday"

Well, since Dorris hates giving out lists like this, we (the Wubba contingent) decided to do it for her so
here ya go:

Dorris can always use more stuff to spin (and it's fun for us - it feels so good). Anything on this page is good...or on the colored wool page, just no orange/yellow/brown/gold (we don't look good in those colors (grin))

http://www.coppermoose.com/NufibersNat.html

Dorris likes old Bogart movies - so either of the Bogart collections on Amazon will work

Dorris likes the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes (British TV)
Dorris likes the Lord Peter Whimsy series (British TV)
Dorris also likes action porn, but you might want to check with the Big Guy about movies they already have, but 'Unleashed' is on her list (we don't let the kids watch these often) as is 'Mr and Mrs Smith'

Dorris needs clothes - and Dorris likes Land's End and Dorris will let you take the easy way out and get her a gift card

http://www.landsend.com/cgi-bin/GiftCard.cgi?cardType=2&sid=0320159453348129070

Of course, no one asks us Wubbas what WE'D like for Christmas (sniff) makes us feel unloved sometimes....but, if you're interested, a nice body lotion would be good...something citrus-y, but not grapefruit. We don't like grapefruits. Or cinnimon-y, spicey kinda thing....yeah...that would work...
