| | happy | ] | Merry Day After Christmas to all
Hope yesterday was as good and grand for everyone else as it was here. Got up, had coffee, did pressies and I got TOYS! Silicon, plastic and metal - OHBOY! And some of y'all have dirty minds*.
Kitchen toys, people, measuring cups and recipe cups and a scale (it's what requires batteries), and a set of Wall-E figs to take to work.
Then we fixed dinner, Rib roast and veggies. We were going to have a fresh loaf of bread but we think the bread machine is trying to curl up its toes and die on us. It's about 8 or 9 years old, so it's not like we bought it last year and it's dying, but we really wanted that loaf of bread, dammit.
Overall, a quite happy day spent with loved ones and friends.
*besides, mine plugs into the wall. |

I Am A: Chaotic Neutral Human Wizard/Sorcerer (3rd/3rd Level)
Ability Scores:
Strength-12
Dexterity-17
Constitution-16
Intelligence-17
Wisdom-13
Charisma-13
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.
Race: Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.
Primary Class: Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.
Secondary Class: Sorcerers are arcane spellcasters who manipulate magic energy with imagination and talent rather than studious discipline. They have no books, no mentors, no theories just raw power that they direct at will. Sorcerers know fewer spells than wizards do and acquire them more slowly, but they can cast individual spells more often and have no need to prepare their incantations ahead of time. Also unlike wizards, sorcerers cannot specialize in a school of magic. Since sorcerers gain their powers without undergoing the years of rigorous study that wizards go through, they have more time to learn fighting skills and are proficient with simple weapons. Charisma is very important for sorcerers; the higher their value in this ability, the higher the spell level they can cast.

Got stocked up on milk, sugar, coffee, antibiotics, antiseptics, masks, gloves and booze. You know, the essentials - 'Cuz if I'm gonna hafta start stacking and burning I'm so NOT doing it with no coffee before and no Uncle Tito's after.
Y'know, after years of racquet sports, I can still swing a mean shovel and they go down FAST when you put topspin on 'em but DANG! my shoulder wants to talk to me and it isn't keeping a civil tongue in it's head.
Gotta go nap a bit before my time in the barricades, if I can without seeing all the crawly bits when I close my eyes. I'm damn sick an tired of the smells and the noises and seriously thinking about heading out sometime and hitting the construction site and see if I can find some dynamite. And a slingshot. and someone to use the slingshot. |

and it'll work even better once I've got a good edge on it. Good thing the Dremel's charged up.
Good thing Jim's asleep so he can't see what I'm doing with his Dremel, but he'll appreciate having one (or two - eyeing the spade-fork) more edged weapons in the house. |

Stopped by Red's Range here down south....it was packed, couldn't get near it
Hit the one up by the house....strangely quiet...thank the gods I haven't lost my touch for locks, or I'd need a new spare ball for the Fall Bowling League, if it happens.
Stocked up on ammo, found a sweet 12 gauge (and ammo) for Jim. gonna see if the Saws-all will go through it. That'll make it a little easier to manuever around. Left an IOU for it.
Gonna need a new front end for Greta. Hope USAA doesn't call whatever this is a freakin' "Act Of God" to get out of paying for it. She's still drivable tho, so that's a good thing. |

Jim sent this after the meeting Saturday
Hayden,
This letter has only been delayed as long as it has because of Dorris' request that I wait until after the Loa-O meeting. I wanted to send it much earlier.
I'm not going to call you ugly names and then just let things go along as they will.
We're done.
Hand over the game I lent you and your key to the house to Richard. You are not welcome at our home, or in our lives, any longer. Keith has your dice bag and the books your mother lent me.
Either refinance the truck or trade it in, but get Dorris' name off the paperwork. Please do so with all haste.
Your word means nothing. Your resignation letter and your NDA, whether they involve a true 'legal entity' or not, were your word. And in violating your relinquishment of all intellectual property rights, you've become a thief as well. Liar and thief... think on that. You have no honor. You adhere to the 'letter of the law' and completely violate the spirit. Your lies, misdirections and prevarications in service of your 'dream' show that there is little truth in you. Your religious delusions serve to give you justification for whatever you end up doing as you stumble through your days. Your life is a road map of clusterfuck after clusterfuck, so I see how well that's working for you.
Like Chris concerning your daughter, like Leah concerning the money she loaned you, we're seeing what you're made of, and it truly disappoints me.
To reiterate, we're done.
Jim
Hayden responded with this:
I read through this message probably four or five times. I'll try to keep my response short as I see no need to drag this out any longer than is required. First, I should have your house key and stuff to Richard by tonight or tomorrow night depending on how quickly I can get it together. Second, I will be calling Chrysler today to start the refinancing as you requested. You can keep the extra key. I can't imagine either of you ever trying to take the truck and it may come in useful later that you have a copy. And last, in response to the bulk of this message, I up my bid to Dorris for the Lead programmer position from $100,000.00 salary to $150,00.00 per year. Minimum of two years with benefits and an equal share of the profits from the game. P.S. If Jim sends me another shitty e-mail like this one I will be upping my offer again to $175,000.00.
I am not joking and I am not laughing.
I just sent Hayden my response:
Hayden The thought that Jim would send an email, like the one he sent, without discussion with me is laughable. The thought that Jim's email was, somehow, a bargaining ploy is insulting. In fact, the reason I didn't respond to this email sooner was, if I had, it would be about 3 pages of vitriolic prose. The thought of working for/with someone who will ignore his own word in order to do whatever he wishes to do is nauseating. I cannot, and I will not, work with/for someone I cannot trust again. In case you missed it the first time around, we're done. You need not make any other offer as it will be refused. We aren't joking We aren't laughing Dorris |
